I don't know of an over the counter cream or medication. I

think you need to cut the ingrown portion of the nail out, yes, it does hurt. Then you need to cut your nail straight across and not on a curve like your fingernails. Keep the nail clean, dry, and stop wearing any shoe that causes pressure.

Effective Over-the-Counter Eye Creams?

Does anyone know of any good over-the-counter eye creams for dark circles, bluing of the area around the eyes, and bags? Something for moisturizing sensitive eyes?Effective Over-the-Counter Eye Creams?
For the bags, take a tea bag and soak it in COLD water then put one under each eye, it will reduce the swelling.

Over The Counter Hydroquinone Creams?

Anyone know any good over the counter creams that fade dicoloration that contain Hydroquinone i have a case of post inflamatory hyperpigmentation Over The Counter Hydroquinone Creams?
Yes. Ambi. It's called Ambi Fade Creme.

I bought some at Target a few months ago. It's cheap too!

Anyone know where i can buy (over the counter) some 2.5% strength benzoyl peroxide facial cream/gel etc?

My skin has gotten quite lumpy and i think i have scars there so it's probably acne. This benzoyl peroxide stuff is supposed to be effective but very drying so it seemed best to avoid the really strong stuff and i think boots only sells 10% stuff. I don't have a doctor where i'm liing at the moment so i can't get a prescription... Cheers in advance guys. I don't know of any creams or OTC medicines for this. The best thing to do is cut your nails straight across, rather than cutting them curved. If this is a recurring problem, you probably need to consider a surgical solution (which involves removing the ingrown portion of the nail and applying a solution to the nail bed to keep that part of the nail from growing back).Over-the-counter medicinces/creams that you use/take for ingrown toenails. Actually I say go to a foot doctor, I forget what they're called.

My roomate had one, he went to a foot doctor, paid something like $50, he got rid of it in one trip. Bam end of problem.

    MAYONNAISE.

Is it better to buy skin creams at stores/Sephora/over the counter, or from dermatologists/plastic surgeon?

If you're into beauty/appearance, and want to purchase the best treatments for your skin, would your best bet be going to a store like Sephora, where you can buy creams, although very pricey, ranging from $20-30 to about $600, OR is your best bet getting it through a dermatologist, or a plastic surgeon?

I'd think that if you can get prescriptions of some creams/ointments, and h ave insurance, you can get them at a much better price than paying full price for over the counter cosmetics.

Also, will the ones from derms and plastic surgeons be more effective and potent?

Thanks. Is it better to buy skin creams at stores/Sephora/over the counter, or from dermatologists/plastic surgeon?
    Dermatologist-they specialize in skin care.

You would get to meet someone that would actually look at your skin type and can prescribe a strong but safe product for you:)Is it better to buy skin creams at stores/Sephora/over the counter, or from dermatologists/plastic surgeon?
not necessarily true that those you buy from derms or plastic surgeons may be more potent and effective. I tend to buy from my derm cuz I know I would trust him better and he knows exactly the content of his recommendation. Yea, true that those OTC stuff are usually more expensive tho. The insurance cos. here don't cover any ';cosmetic'; treatments at all.
The doctors are just going to sell you type and a big price tag. I am a 61 year old male and I am told I look like I am in m 40s. For thirty years, I wash my face twice a day with a mild liquid soap and rinse it with cold water. Twice a day I put on a really good over the counter moisturizer and that is all.
No. Some of the most famous dermatologist say the best products come from drugstores. Try Aveeno or Neutogena products. Don't waste your money on all that expensive crap.
it doesn't matter, it's all the same
Trial and error, that's all you can do at this point to see what works for you. My preferred skin care brand is Philosophy (which originally started out in dermatologists offices). It's easy to locate, and I get all my stuff from QVC--especially when they have full size kits available you can't get anywhere else--that's a bargain!
stores and I buy the cheap good smelling kind.
If you know exactly what you want then Sephora is okay. But if you need help determining your skin condition and needs than a dermatologist is the way to go. Best of luck.

Do you know of a termite salve (cream) that kills fungus (supposedly better than over-the counter we use)?

(or something comprable in alternative medicine) My mom is looking for info on that which was on 20/20. Guy almost died of a deadly fungus and a salve made from something from termites killed the fungus. Grandfather is suffering from something similar on the foot. Thanks so much for your help.Do you know of a termite salve (cream) that kills fungus (supposedly better than over-the counter we use)?
    ';SALVADORA PERSICA is widespread in all districts of Tanzania, notably in thorn shrubs, desert flood plains, and grassy savannah (RSCU 1992). It is also found in valleys, on dunes, and termite mounds. It is found where ground water is readily available, on river banks, on the perimeters of waterholes, in seasonally wet sites, and along drainage lines in arid zones.';

    ';The leaves and bark contain the alkaloid trimetylamine. The seed is rich in oil and contains lauric, myristic, and palmitic acids. There is potential for making soaps, candles, and using it as a substitute for coconut oil (FAO 1986).';

  • What is the most effective ANTI-AGING cream out there that is over-the-counter and/or affordable?

I would love to know what is the best cleanser, eye cream, and moisturizer that is available over-the-counter and is the most effective.

Every time I research for this subject online, gimmicks or pop ups show up just to advertise their own product.

I am 25 years old and want to start using products like this now. I avoid sun contact and when I am out there, I use sunscreen always. I moisturize right now but I want it to also work somewhat against aging as well.

All advice is appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Are there any good over-the-counter mole or sebborheic keratosis remover creams?

I know that there are wart remover lliquids that are acidic and are applied over several days; but for moles and what are called sebborheic keratoses, are there any topical treatments?

(the standard treatment is to freeze them off, I know, but most HMOs are pretty stingy in what they will do.)Are there any good over-the-counter mole or sebborheic keratosis remover creams?
There is a problem with taking a mole of one's self. And that is that moles can be canceres, or can cause cancer. if you've got a mole that's big enough that it's bothering you, I would go and save up the money and get it taken off proffessionally. Maybe your HMO would be more willing to help pay if you got your mole cut off, which I believe is a safer way then frozen off. I have hadc many moles and warts removed, never frozen always cut, and have been very pleased with the end result!

Can someone list some breast enhancement pills and creams that I can buy over the counter?

Thanks it is very appreciated. Can someone list some breast enhancement pills and creams that I can buy over the counter?
There are lots of pills and creams out there, but none of them really work. The only way to possibly increase breast size is hormone therapy or surgery. It would be a waste of your time and money. Can someone list some breast enhancement pills and creams that I can buy over the counter?
I'm sure you can find a few but unfortunately, NONE of them work. They're just scams trying to take advantage of women with insecurities. If any do work it's because they may have some herbs that increase the flow of estrogen... birth control pills do the same thing sometimes. Even the ones that MAY work may not be entirely safe.

    According to altmedicine.about.com:

    ';If breast enlargement pills do have estrogen-like effects in the body, there are some safety concerns. Estrogen given on its own stimulates the growth of tissue in the uterus and is believed to promote uterine cancer, which is why birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy normally contain progesterone to counter estrogen's effects on the uterus. We don't know if natural breast enhancement pills stimulate the growth of uterine tissue.';

Hope this helps, but if you still insist on wasting money, I would recommend going to an herbal supplement store - possibly GNC or any other ';organic'; or ';herbal'; stores.
Try having someone suck your breasts, that'll make them bigger

Over the counter eye creams for dark circles?

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

    http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11鈥?/a>

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

Im currently using Peter Thomas Roth Botanical skin brightener for undereye circles and I can say it is working a little, but not as fast as I want it to. You could try it, its at Sephora for $50.Over the counter eye creams for dark circles?
I used to have circles under my eyes that were so dark ... I always looked tired and rundown.

I started using Avon's Anew Clinical Eye Lift. There is a cream for under the eyes and a gel for the eye lids. It is worth every penny. I was hesitant about trying it, but my friend started using it and I noticed results very quickly. I decided to try it; I bought it off ebay for much less than if I had bought it from an Avon rep directly.
Dark circles can treated with regular and gentle care.Cover your eyes with cotton soaked in luke warm milk for 15 minutes everyday to remove the dark circles around your eyes or dip cotton pads into freshly extracted mint juice, flatten them and place them on closed eyelids for 10 to 15 minutes. Check out http://useinfo-darkcircles.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What is a good cream for crows feet? Preferably over the counter. thanks?

Avon anew is the best I have ever tried. A doctor thought I was scamming him and the insurance because I look younger than my age by a long shot. He accused me of not being me and was really angry. Glowering and scowling at me he stood and looked at my drivers license and then back up at me. Finally he admitted I was probably who I claimed to be after finding gray in my hair. Hah. It would have been great except I didn't like that he thought I looked like a thief! This is just one incident out of many. I am 53 and have very few lines. That's Avon Anew and 50 spf sunblock religiously. P.S. I don't sell it.What is a good cream for crows feet? I use the Arbonne RE-9 Eye Cream It works really well, For lines and Puffiness
preparation h......tightens the skin and cost way less than cosmetic creams..
Buy some vitamin E ointment at your local drugstore. It costs about $3 and works great not only for crows feet, but scars as well. It doesn't smell the best and it's a bit greasy, but it really works
The question is, why would you want to put cream on your crow's feet? Bird feet are typically dry, and if you make your crow's feet smooth and silky, the other crows will hate her for being different.

Can over-the-counter meds like cortaid, analgesic cream, and cough drops be sent in army care pkgs to Iraq?

my son is serving in the us army and i am sending his first care package and no one seems to know the correct answer to this question...please help asapCan over-the-counter meds like cortaid, analgesic cream, and cough drops be sent in army care pkgs to Iraq?
    Kelly Jo:

Yes! Definitely! You can send over the counter medications to military members serving in the middle east. I have done so in many packages to many service members. They must be in the original factory sealed contained. Just make sure you list it on the Customs Declaration, USPS form 2976A

They are instructed NOT to eat any food that is home make,. (that doesn't mean that some aren't ';bending'; that rule) I don't believe you as a mother would send your son anything that would harm him.

When you do send that package, tell your son my family and I said ';Thank You'; for his sacrifice and service to the country. We are able to sleep safe and sound at night, over here, because fine young men and women such as he are keeping watch over the country. Can over-the-counter meds like cortaid, analgesic cream, and cough drops be sent in army care pkgs to Iraq?
yes you can send them put them in a Ziploc bag. And foods don't send anything that melts or ruins. Send stuff like crackers, canned foods, powder drinks, cookies, candy and anything that the request. don't forget to include the personal items like sunscreen, eye drops, Durant, tooth paste, extra stuff Don't forget to include tablets, pens, and stamped envelops so they can write back.I know from many packages they need all the reminders of home. Take pictures of everyone in the family and send them that way the keep in formed of all changes. I sent letters ever day when my husband was over there for a year. I will say a special prayer for your family and if you need someone to talk look me up around here.
with regards to seperating food: well, it might be a good idea, if only to protect items if stuff leaks or goes bad. Choclatye, for instance, has atendancy to melt in transit, so you really don't want a chocolate coating on everything else in the box, although it might make the cough drops taste better...beverages can burst under the pressure, and who wants an iced tea soaked letter from home, right?

  • My father has gout and I was wondering if there any over the counter/prescription drugs or creams he could use

My father has this condition called gout. He has a hard time walking because his foot is swollen and has a burning sensation. I was wondering what kind of medication or cream I could go out and buy for him? Would icy hot work? Does anyone know any other methods to help treat the pain besides using strong prescription drugs like percoset? I don't like the idea of using strong prescription drugs like that.My father has gout and I was wondering if there any over the counter/prescription drugs or creams he could use
Gout is treated with the prescription drug, Allpurinol. Gout is caused because your body is having trouble getting rid of uric acid. He may develop kidney stones also. Please encourage him to take the allpurinol. It is cheap. Also, go to the health food store and get him BLACK CHERRY juice. one tablespoon a day helps the body to naturally get rid of the uric acid. He also needs to limit his amout of protien from wild game, organ meat, and red meat. Please look up gout on the internet. There is a whole diet plan. My husband has this diesease and I just have to alter his diet, he take Allpurinol, and we are living a pain free life for him.My father has gout and I was wondering if there any over the counter/prescription drugs or creams he could use
Get a bottle of cherry syrup from GNC

Gout is from too much uric acid and the cherry juice neutralizes the uric acid

Some other things that are good for gout are garlic, celery, fresh fruit and vegetables flax seed oil and enzymes.

Also some things that cause gout are alchol, too much meat, gravy and mushrooms. He needs to limit these things.
You father needs to take advil or aleve for the inflammation. He will need to go to a doctor to be put in a maintenance drug called allopurinol that will prevent gout in the future because it will reoccur. He has to restrict certain things from his diet like turkey because it has uric acid in it. Ask him to see a doctor soon.

Just as a pointer: Allopurinol is a maintainance drug. It is not used for treating gout! Ibuprofen and any anti-inflammatory drugs are treatment for ACUTE gout.
He needs to change his diet! Gout is caused by too much uric acid. Aren't quite sure why some get gout and some don't but diets high in protein particularly animal protein are one of the causes listed and they can definitely trigger an attack. One thing he shouldn't eat is turkey. My mother has gout too and they finally were told about turkey. She does much better now she doesn't eat ANY turkey.

Simple treatments are to raise and rest the affected joint(s) for at least 24 hours and take Ibuprofen...aspirin is not recommended.
Gout is a form of arthritis. Nasty condition. Urate crystals are deposited in the joints, usually the big toe and feet. Very painful. The best thing that your father can do is change is eating habits. No meats, especially red meat, no alcohol etc. Talk with his doctor and set up a life style change. Sorry.
Anti-Inflammatories like Advil or Alleve will help some. Sometimes it takes a stronger, prescription pain reliever.
he need to go to the doctor they will give him pills for 10-15 days then they will give him allopurinol 300 mg.

he will need to take daily.

i have gout since 2001 it is in controll with the pills no pain.

it was so bad before i walk like 100 year old man.
Three things have helped me stay gout free for almost 2 years, they are:

Can you buy EMLA cream online or over the counter at a pharmacy? or is it a prescription item?

I want to have this handy just in case the hospital refuses to give me lidocaine before inserting that excrutiatingly painful IV needle/tube.

Pasco County Hospital in Dade City FL does this automatically, they really CARE about patient comfort...Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater FL, likes to see their patients in pain so they can save a buck and treat them like crap. Can you buy EMLA cream online or over the counter at a pharmacy? or is it a prescription item?
EMLA is an over the counter product in some countries like Canada, Australia, and I believe Britain. In the U.S. however, it is not. Have you considered trying lidocaine or something similar OTC. Perhaps you could have your regular doctor get your a script or tell the people at the hospital you refuse to get the test unless they get orders from the physician on staff to numb it properly. You have a right to request this you know. Peace

Are there any stretch mark fading creams (over the counter) that someone has used and it actually worked?

i am wanting to know because i am looking to get rid of mineAre there any stretch mark fading creams (over the counter) that someone has used and it actually worked?
Bio-oil. Its pretty expensive (around 30$ here in alaska) but it does work. Are there any stretch mark fading creams (over the counter) that someone has used and it actually worked?
There is a lot of stretch mark treatment available on the market these days. Some treatments are more effective in fading or even eliminating stretch marks, but the success of the treatment depends on a few different things. First of all is the color and age of the stretch marks. If they have faded to a flesh color they are much harder to heal. Second of all, ethnicity and heredity play a role in which creams, oils and other products or equipment will succeed in healing stretch marks.

The cheapest stretch mark treatment available is creams made especially for stretch marks. The most effective creams contain ingredients such as cocoa butter, lanolin and wheat germ oil. These creams actually heal and rebuild the damaged skin. While they may not be able to completely eliminate stretch marks, they may at least make the stretch marks fade to a barely visible scar. A good recommendation will be Palmer Cocoa Butter Cream.

Another popular %26amp; effective cream that you might wish to consider is Strivectin. It has a bioactive topical formula that has a combination of skin firming agents to reduce visible wrinkles and make skin appear firmer

If you are interested in more effective ways of getting rid of stretch marks, you can read abt them from this site: http://stretch-marks.my-fashion-house.co鈥?/a>
Every person is unique and skin grows at different rates, causing some people to suffer from stretch marks more severely than others.

Now you can both prevent and treat them with one great product: Revitol Stretch Mark Prevention cream.

When using the product on existing stretch marks, best results are obtained on new scars that are still red and elevated. On older tissue it will take longer to see the full effects of this fantastic cream.

    You can get them online:

The pharmacist recommended it to me for eczema and it's working well. It is kinda pricey, I paid $18 for 40ml but you really only need a tiny amount at a time.

Try using all natural shea butter... My mom used this and it faded age spots she was starting to get. You will have to call around to find it since you aren't an internet shopper. Probably can find it in an international/African grocery or health food store. It is like cocoa butter if you have ever used that on your skin. I use shea butter on my skin and it is great!!! You will be surpised by the results.Anyone know of a good fade cream for age spots? Over the counter please, not an internet buyer.?

What skin care cream that you can purchase over the counter will promote healthy skin?

I use Avene and it is excellent. It is expensive but you only need a little bit of each cream, it is rich in ';thermal spring water. The cold cream is quite thick but if you moisten your hands it goes on really easy and your face feels lubricated. If you have any problems with slight blemishes - just dab their Cicalfate cream on and it will be gone in a day. What skin care cream that you can purchase over the counter will promote healthy skin?

Best Over the Counter Acne Scar Creams or Moisterizers?

Which ones are the best and how much are they.Best Over the Counter Acne Scar Creams or Moisterizers?
Here in Australia they did an experiment on all the hand and body creams and the most expensive wasn't the best. Infact one of the cheapest ended up being the winner and that was Sorbolene. You can buy a one litre bottle for around $5.00.Best Over the Counter Acne Scar Creams or Moisterizers?
There is no real answer for this. Everyone's skin is different. Everyone's acne is caused by different reasons. Look for reviews on skin care products. Do as much research as possible before trying anything.

only things that WORK please...I have really bad eczema on my hand where it cracks and bleeds...any home remedies or over the counter creams?
take vaseline or any other brand petroleum jelly (i assume most people have that in their cabinet, and if not, it's very cheap), Eucerin... Aveeno actually has a cheap, natural cream that I love (i have it on my arms). Basically anything unscented or natural will do...

Apply it liberally, and wear cotton gloves overnight. It should help heal you within a few days, and you'll have to maintain it by doing it every few days once it's under control.

Make sure you dry your hands really well when you wash them, and avoid scented soaps. Washing dishes always made my forearms flare up if i set them on the side of the sink as i did it, so you should probably wear rubber gloves when you do things like that.

Good luck... those are the best home remedies i've tried. The stuff the dermatoligist gave me actually burned when i put it on... the aveeno was my best bet. (Eucerin stung a little but did the job.)I have really bad eczema on my hand where it cracks and bleeds...any home remedies or over the counter creams?
Try using neosporin, if that doesn't work, i guss you could put a liitle alchohol on a q-tip, if that doesn't work I would go see a doctor. Also try hydrcortizone.
This is gonna sound weird but you can use the stuff that farmers use on cow udders to keep them soft and free from cracks. There is something called Bag balm or something like that my father-in-law uses....and it works great!
you can put veg. oil on them and cover them with a sandwich bag. Let them soak like this for a while. Repeat as needed.

have you tried using dove unscented bar soap only use this it will help. But aveeno lotion non scented use that also hydracortizone cream 1% you can get this over the counter. All of these things helped my son. If you have your hands in water a lot wear gloves or if you bake a lot it could be the yeast that is making it worse.
Hi, I highly recommend the anti-eczema cream from http://www.champori.com It is herbal (free of steroids) and works fast.

E45 cream is very good, apply on going to bed and put on a pair of Cotton gloves so that the cream is absorbed in to the skin. They also do a wash which will stop your hands drying out.
I use a generic 1% hydrocotisone cream (cheaper than buying name brands like Cortaid). I use it until the burnign goes away, usually a couple of days. My hands will still be red, but the spots are dry, so I keep them moisurized with lotion. For this, it's better to use a petroleum-based lotion as opposed to the usual water-based lotions since the skin is so dry. Through the winter, you need to keep your hands mousturized to prevent this and keep away from any allergens that you may be aware of. Be sure to COMPLETELY rinse away soap (use the mildest possible, like Dial) when washing your hands and dry them completely to help keep this down. Good luck!

Acne scars help!!! Microderm abrasion vs. over the counter creams?

My acne has subsided, but i don't like the grainy looking scars and blemishes thats left on my skin. I tried proactiv solution, but it didn't work the way that i thought. Thinking about microderm abrasion instead. Any advice?Acne scars help!!! Microderm abrasion vs. over the counter creams?
at home microdermabrasion kits aren't as effective as the professional procedure. i highly recommend it, it worked really well on my old acne scars. they are almost gone now and so are my fine lines on the forehead and blemishes on the chin and cheeks.

you can use at home kits for maintenance, but best results come from at least 8 professional microdermabrasion sessions.

hope this helps.Acne scars help!!! Microderm abrasion vs. over the counter creams?
microdermabrasion mainly targets superficial dead skin layers and removes them.. this can be a little help for dark acne scars..

    my 2 cents -

use a mild skin lightening soap (black licorice soap) and/or dermaline skin whitening cream to get rid of dark acne scars.. plus a high spf sunscreen to prevent further pigmentation because the sun is the no.1 cause of skin/spot darkening.

    it's how i did it. :-)

  • Acne, wa is the best face wash or cream to buy over the counter?

hi im 14 and i suffer from acne have done for about 5 months and im going to the docotor next week and just now i use simple soap on my face and its not helping what would u reccomend as the best afce wash/cream i should use untill i go to the doctor next week ? (not to pricey and just something i can get over the counter)Acne, wa is the best face wash or cream to buy over the counter?
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

    Clearasil's

    it dries to skin

    achene like oily skin
Avoid those soaps and lotions aimed at those with spots - i.e. clearasil and oxy-10 as they tend to be quite harsh. As the others have said keep to the simple stuff. That aqeuous cream is good. You can buy it over the counter at any chemist. Or try emulsifying ointment. It is very similar - i use it and it leaves your skin so soft. Or other wise just use dove soap. The thing with acne is to clean the skin regularly with mild products to remove the excess oil and dirt that is on the skin that leads to acne. Thus wash your face 2/3 times a day.
Try Acnegel. Available from any good chemist. Just wash your face with it twice a day, and within a very short time you will no longer have a problem.
    CLEARASIL庐 DAILY CLEANSE

This rich, pearly cream eliminates dirt, oil, and makeup. The formula thoroughly cleanses skin without overdrying. Use morning and night to purify skin.

Try Panoxyl is very good. It's a cream that you need to asked for, as it not on the Shelves. Very good product. It's a cream, You put it on the spot and leave it to dry and let the cream do it's work. My partner suffer very bad of Ache for years, he tried everything until he asked the chemist to seriously help him. They give him Panoxyl, he puts it on at night and next morning some of the spots disappeared. Please try it, it is really good but please check with your doctor first, just in-case you may have allergies. Let me know how you got on.
i recommend you try proactive it worked for me. if that doesn't work try searching at a store like walmart and see what they have to offer for acne. when searching for a good product look for medications that are commonly used for the treatment of acne.
Use mayonnaise it works a treat
Pond's facial wash works..or try cetaphil
30$ will last you for months.

    proactiv is really great
If you live in the UK there are two things that you can buy. Firstly buy Aqueous cream from any chemist, use this cream in the same way that you'd use soap, that is smooth it on and rinse it away with warm water, it'll leave a slight protective film on the surface which is good protection against harmful dirt, also buy Sudocrem, if you have any red spots, apply some to the problem areas before you go to bed, in the morning you'll notice that it's taken the rage out of the spots and tends to dry the skin in that section out.
Forget face washes and creams,,just use Simple soap,,not perfumed,,not coloured,,and stop thinking about girls
my brother went to this chinese herbalist place and they gave him this herbal tea to drink and it cleared up really quick.

What is the best Cream for psoriasis.over the counter?

I would recommend herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, it's natural, no steroids. I was using this treatment with great success. My skin is clear for more than 8 mo now. Ointment and spray cleared the skin and now I just take anti-eczema extract to prevent future flare-ups.

I am sorry to say that I am not sure what to tell you. I feel that I am suffering from something similar. My last GF gave me HPV and I am one of those rare people who needs recurrent therapy (just my luck). Toward the end of our relatioship, a new problem arose that I am not sure is related to the HPV or not. This problem led to a sudden decrease in intercourse, which undoubtedly contributed to the relationship failing.

This new problem is that I get skin irritation in patches on my penis. The areas are red, slightly Itchy and mildly flake after a day or two. These areas basically look like a bad sunburn and peel similarly. Before the relationship ended, we initially thought it was from rougher sex, but I sometimes notice that my penis burns a little when penentrated in her vagina. We laid off of sex for a bit and I used Aquaphor to heal things. That seemed to work. After trying sex again, I noticed the same sensations. I have also tried hydrocortisone thinking that it may be an allergic reaction to her or one of her latex toys. We did not use condoms, so I am not really sure if this could be a latex allergy (to her toys) or not.

Now that we are no longer together and I am single, I really have no idea what can be causing this reaction. I do not use harsh soaps or detergents. When I am alone, I use Lubriderm--fairly mild, but I am still having the same reactions.

What can this be? What can be done? Any other advice would be appreciated. Thank you
stuff for jock itch. thrush is a fungus. if you look at the drugs in yeast infection medicine, its like the same for jock itch stuff.
    Canestan.
    Canestan Duo (Tablet and cream)
Thrush is caused by a fungus (candida), and is therefore treated with antifungal drugs. Treatments are available as:

Pessaries to be inserted into the vagina

Creams to be put on the vulva and/or into the vagina

    Capsules to be swallowed

Treatments can be bought over the counter at a chemist, but they may be cheaper (or free) if you get them by prescription. Pessaries and creams work directly at the site of infection 鈥?in the vagina and on the outer lips of the vagina.

Pessaries are bullet-shaped tablets that can be either hard or waxy. They need to be pushed high into your vagina with your finger or an applicator.

There are two types of creams used to treat thrush: vaginal and vulval. Vaginal creams work internally and, like pessaries, are inserted into the vagina using an applicator. Vulval creams are usually used with an internal treatment, to help soothe and treat itching outside the vagina.

Pessaries and creams can be messy 鈥?they melt and leak out into your pants 鈥?so it鈥檚 best to insert them at night just before you go to bed. You may also want to use a panty liner, as some treatments are coloured and can stain.

Echinacea is an immune system boosting herb. Consider having him add this herb to his diet.

Since most fungal skin infections are surface infections, antifungal treatments are usually applied directly to the skin in the infected area (topical treatments).

There are a variety of treatments available in the form of creams, lotions and medicated powders. If the rash covers quite a large area of skin, or affects the nails or scalp, then tablets may be required.

Some treatments are available over-the-counter from a pharmacist, without a prescription. For example, sprays are available for treating athletes foot. Ask your pharmacist for advice.

Stronger forms of topical treatments and antifungals in tablet form are only available on prescription. You may also be prescribed antifungal shampoo for scalp infections.

These treatments are usually effective. Like any drug, they can occasionally cause side effects. These may include skin irritation or an upset stomach. It isn't unusual for the rash to return, even when it seems to have been treated. The treatment may need to be used for at least four weeks to prevent the infection from coming back.

If you are buying an over-the-counter antifungal treatment, you need to be sure that you have a fungal infection. You may recognise the rash from a previously diagnosed fungal infection. But if there's any doubt about your diagnosis, or if over-the-counter treatments don't work, then you should seek advice from your GP.

How do guys get rid of genital warts? what over-the-counter creams do they use?

just curious that's all...How do guys get rid of genital warts? what over-the-counter creams do they use?
Genital warts (or condyloma, or condylomata acuminata) is a highly contagious sexually transmitted infection. Caused by some variants of the Human papillomavirus, typically HPV 6 and HPV 11, it is spread during oral, genital, or anal sex with an infected partner.

Genital warts often disappear even without treatment. In other cases, they eventually may develop a fleshy, small raised growth. There is no way to predict whether the warts will grow or disappear. Therefore, if you suspect you have genital warts, you should be examined and treated, if necessary.

Depending on factors such as the size and location of the genital warts, a doctor will offer you one of several ways to treat them.

Imiquimod, (Aldara庐) a topical immune response cream which you can apply to the affected area

A 20% podophyllin anti-mitotic solution, which you can apply to the affected area and later wash off

A 0.5% podofilox solution, applied to the affected area but shouldn鈥檛 be washed off

    A 5% 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) cream

    Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)

    Pulsed dye laser

    Liquid nitrogen cryosurgery

Although treatments can get rid of the warts, they do not get rid of the HPV virus, so warts can recur after treatment. The body's immune system typically clears the virus anywhere from 6 months to two years, but it occasionally remains in the body for a lifetime.[1] The state of the immune system determines the chances of ridding the virus entirely, and can be affected by factors such as HIV infection, certain medications, stress, or illness.[2] There is even some suggestion that effective treatment of the wart may aid the body's immune response. How do guys get rid of genital warts? what over-the-counter creams do they use?
It is a virus STD, nothing over the counter will 'make it go away' and for women cervical cancer is a high risk if the have HPV

What is the main ingredient in cream prescribed by doctors for acne? Is it in any you can buy over the counter?

Diluted in an ointment, benzoyl peroxide is used as an acne treatment and the following precautions and claims pertain to this use. Attention should be paid to the safety directions provided when purchased.

In the United States, the typical concentration for benzoyl peroxide is 2.5% to 10% for both prescription and over the counter use in treatment for acne. What is the main ingredient in cream prescribed by doctors for acne? Is it in any you can buy over the counter?
The main causes of acne is toxins build up in the body and clogged pores caused by excessive oil and deadskin cells. The clogged pores, which contain toxins and oil, provide a fertile ground for acne bacteria to spread and thrive. This triggersskin inflammation, which leads to acne forming.

Most acne products only treat the symptoms and not underlying cause of acne. Over the counter products such as gel and cream only make your skin dry %26amp; sensitive instead of treating acne at the source. Prolonged use can even lead to premature aging and other health issues.

The only way to effectively fight acne and prevent acne from coming back is to treat the underlying cause of acne. First, prevent toxins build up in the body. Secondly, prevent your pores from being clogged through proper skin care. To effectively treat acne and prevent acne and pimples from occuring again, you need to use an acne treatment system that helps to get rid of toxins from the body as well as prevent your pores from being clogged. They should also contains natural ingredients since they're more safer to use and has less side effects. Once your acne is cured, you must take actions to keep your body clean of the toxins through proper diet and keep your pores clean through proper skin care. Follow these tips:

-Drink a glass of warm water with lemon and honey in the morning and evening

-Drink lots of water throughout the day to flush out the toxins

-Eat 2 cups of yogurt a day - yogurt boost ur immune system and contain microbiotic organisms that help your digestive system and control the acid/yeast

    -Exercise regularly

-Eat lots of green veggies and fruits (Use organic as much as possible)

-Stay away from coffee, sugar, carbohydrates, fatty and fried food, processed food.

-Take aloe vera pills - Aloe vera pills contains essential antioxidants and vitamins to nourish the skin and detox ur body. Go to www.amazingacnecure.com/healing_aloe.htm鈥?br>

-Stay out of stress - stress cause the body to produce excessive oil, which can clog the pores. Take some time to mediate and do deep breathing. That will help u to control stress.

-Wash your face in morning and evening gently with gentle cleanser. Use natural products if possible. Steam your face onice in awhile and also do a mask to draw out excess oil if you have oily skin.

-Wash your face with clean, filtered water. Tap water contains chlorine and chemicals, which can cause your skin to produce more oil. Try not to avoid make-ups or use mineral make-ups, which is better for your skin.

If you follow the above guidelines, you will have clear, beautiful skin as well as a healthy body, guaranteed! To your beautiful skin! What is the main ingredient in cream prescribed by doctors for acne? Is it in any you can buy over the counter?
usually salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and you can buy them OTC but usually at a lower percentage-try PersGel by Clearasil, I've used it for years with great results, it's kinda pricey but works great. Oh and Biore Ice Cleanser for shower and morning face washing.

Why can a person NOT use a skin numbing agent when getting a tattoo...there are over the counter creams....?

there is a product called emla that numbs the skin to pain...a topical anesthetic....why are people NOT encouraged to use this for tattoos?? it would make the entire experience a much more pleasurable one.....and likely increase the tattoo biz as well....for all those petrified of the pain...

i realize you don't want the numbing agent to wear off, however, you can always stop when it does, usually they last a couple of hours, and apply new if the tattoo you are getting is that huge......n'est pas??

    love to hear your answers

thanking you in advanceWhy can a person NOT use a skin numbing agent when getting a tattoo...there are over the counter creams....?
I have 3 tattoos...my guy actually uses one that is made for tattoo artists. You might want to check around. There could be some that don't know about it?

It is a very short term thing and it doesn't completely kill the pain, it's just to ease it a little. Why can a person NOT use a skin numbing agent when getting a tattoo...there are over the counter creams....?
okay, so anesthetic for tattoo artists exists....

in canada? i'm in toronto......anyone know anyone who knows anyone who knows a tattoo artist who uses such products here, in toronto, and what the product is called? Report Abuse

if you are young think about when you are 50 or 60 and think how stupid the tatto will look on your old flabby body
Who said you can't use it? I was thinking about doing the same thing.
Pain is part of the tattoo. Getting a tattoo is almost like a spiritual experience - you are doing something permanent, takes a lot of decision making, and does involve a certain amount of pain. Millions of people have gotten tats without anesthetic. If you think you need painkiller don't get a tat. The exception is permanent makeup (eyeliner, lip liner which is basically tattooed on) which is done for different reasons.
Just have to suck it up, hell, be a man! Otherwise, don't get any :)

Can someone please recommend an over the counter skin bleaching cream that works for the face please?

i need something strong and that works. last month glue was thrown on my face and my face broke out everywhere. i scrubed my face with an exfoliator everyday and it was pretty painful and my face was red(that was pretty stupid) and like a week later my face was extremely dark. i thought it were clear up but it didnt and a month later it still looks the same. i really need yaw help because school opens up in one month.

i dont look people in the eye anymore because it will bring attention to my dark face. i kno about all the dangers of using the creams and i am ready to face them. please dont ask me why i wanna do this or ask mj. the reason yaw ask questions like that because yaw probaly dont have hyperpigmentation or a face darker then your the rest of your bodyCan someone please recommend an over the counter skin bleaching cream that works for the face please?
I think that you should visit your dermatoligest because she would know what to do better than anyone on here... besides what if it is just a simple thing that makes it go away? you should visit her, but if she has nothing for you, just go ahead with the bleaching. I know how being really self consious feels...Can someone please recommend an over the counter skin bleaching cream that works for the face please?
I recommend Derma blend fade cream. You only need to put on the area that you want lighten. Derma blend also has a cover cream that you can use that will help cover up the scar while you wait for it to go away. If you are a wearer of makeup you can use the cover up makeup under your regular foundation or alone . I recommend that you us the setting power to set the makeup and the cleanser for removal of makeup. If you are not a wearer of makeup just use the fade cream and in a few days the scar will fade away.

You will be able to find it at your nearest dept. store,JCPenney, Dillard, and Macys . It is usually at the counter next to Flori Roberts cosmetics and Fashion Fair. This makeup line is for every one , it don't matter what your nationality is the products is for every one.
hi i would suggest using palmers , even tone fade milk. it had hydroquinone it is a skin bleaching agent reccommded by dermotologist for ppl with skin discoloration. it worked for me, it took about 2 weeks , and it help somewhat even and lighten mr skin tone. i does work but u have tobe consistant with it. i would give 3 months for best results..... goood Luck
your problem is far from mj's vanity, it's pigmentation and should be corrected.. before you apply any skin lightening cream, make sure skin is already healed because skin lightening or fading involves a peeling or exfoliation process to remove the outermost dark layer and resurface lightened skin..

Does anyone know of any creams sold over the counter contain Vitamin K?

I have dark circles under my eyes and I understand Vitamin K is good for that particular area. Not sure of any and thought someone will have an answer. Alot of drugstore cosmetic clerks are not that bright.Does anyone know of any creams sold over the counter contain Vitamin K?
I use Teamine by Revision. It has vitamin k and reduces the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. I bought it to reduce fine lines and have been using it for about 2.5 months. After 1 week, I already noticed a huge reduction in the appearance of fines lines and my mom even asked me if I had a face lift (she doesn't see me that often). It really works and is well worth the price. A little of it lasts a long time, I'm still using the first bottle I purchased after 2.5 months.Does anyone know of any creams sold over the counter contain Vitamin K?

Where can I find some breast enhancing creams or pills that are not only on the internet?Where can I find some over the counter breast enhancing creams and/or pills?
The only thing you need is to start loving you for you. I am sure you boobs are beautiful. Bigger breast attracted bigger jerks! Don't forget, if you have to gain attention buy making your boobs bigger, then what kind of men does that attract? Men who just look at your boobs and nothing else.

BOOKS BEFORE BOOBS! EDUCATION IS FREEDOM!Where can I find some over the counter breast enhancing creams and/or pills?
The only thing that *might* help is to get some progestrin cream. It's a hormone and can sometimes make your breasts a little fuller. It won't make you grow a whole cupsize or anything though. The only real way to get bigger boobs to get surgery. Or if you're young, just be patient. Some women don't develop breasts until their early 20's.
There are natural supplements that can also aid breast growth. Like soy Isoflavones, progesterone cream, wild yams, fenugreek, black cohosh.

You can find these at most drug stores or supermarkets.
It is thought that some foods containing soy and sesame seeds can help to naturally increase breast size, but Im not sure there's any real proof of this. Caffeine %26amp; carbonated drinks should be avoided - healthy foods %26amp; exercise will help to firm your breasts!
They are a scam and do not work. The only way to increase your size is gain weight or get implants
rub em on my face and they'll grow

10 yr old w/eczema. What are the BEST over-the-counter creams/lotions to treat her rashes?

RX can be expensive. (she keeps loosing her creams, too)10 yr old w/eczema. What are the BEST over-the-counter creams/lotions to treat her rashes?
You should try melaleuca's product called Renew. It isn't something you can find in a store you buy it online.

Here is a study done on Renew and it's effects on eczema

    http://melaleuca.com/ps/pdf_us/US_RenewP鈥?/a>

By using the renew lotion and also a few of melaleuca's other products such as their more mild soaps and laundry soap your daughter may be able to become outbreak free. I know a few people with eczema that have been able to accomplish this. If you would like a free sample you may email me at missyworkathome@yahoo.com

She if it will work for her, it is a lot cheaper then those RX creams.10 yr old w/eczema. What are the BEST over-the-counter creams/lotions to treat her rashes?
Go to healthquest.peoplesway.com and get some Oil of Mink. It is clear like water at room temperature. It is the closest oil to human skin oil and will help, probably almost instantly. There is information there and I believe over 30 uses for this oil, form eczema to psoriasis, cuts, burns, warts, moles, teething in children, ear aches, ......
You need a greasy emollient cream to keep the eczema moist and prevent it from drying out and cracking, here in the UK the best crams are Aqueous, E-45 and Diprobase which are all just a couple of pounds, apply twice a day then when use have applied them try putting bandages around the affected areas where the cream is, so it really holds the cream on and every last bit is soaked in, not all the expensive creams are the best
the cost of this treatment is 5 dollars, and works..

I found a perfect solution for you to consider

    1. Taking 3-4 baths a week with 2 cups of

ACV[The inexspensive stuff in the grocery store is just as good for this application] - soak for 30 minutes then shower for a minute in cold water

    2. 3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals to take a tablespoon of [raw from a health food store]ACV in a tepid glass of water. Add a little honey or blackstrap molasses for taste[I add cinnamon http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=179%26amp;i=鈥?/a>
Poor thing. You can try Arbonne. They formulate their products with pure, natural botanicals and not harmful ingredients that might cause irritation to her skin (alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, etc.). Many products on the market also contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate the pores of our skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. These products get wiped off over time and give little to no benefit but rather a temporary feeling of softness. She needs a pure water based products that will penetrate her skin and deeply condition and hydrate with the proper ingredients. Arbonne has a great baby care line that is botanically-based and pH correct, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They are formulated with natural ingredients like oat flour which is an emollient and an emulsifier. It鈥檚 highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. Oat flour helps to soothe and soften dry, itchy and sensitive skin. I'm curious to hear your thoughts. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to send you one.
I was born with psoriasis and for years I had tried everything to prevent it. My doctors said for the longest time I had eczema, which I didn't. The best thing I have found was MSM cream that I got from a local health food store. It is perfume free and non-greasy but it worked great for me, I haven't had a breakout in 3 years. Give it a shot, plus it beats paying for RX creams. Hope this helps you out:)
I think one of the most important things is to keep her skin well hydrated. Our derm office usually recommends Cetaphil skin moisturizer or Eucerin cream - and to apply as soon as getting out of the shower/bath. Also, recommends washing with a very mild soap such as Dove or Cetaphil. Can use Benadryl at night if she itches.
well its not over the counter and it isnt a cream or lotion but you can buy it over the street corner.........
doublebase is a hydrating gel that works well. it puts a barrier on the skin, so if water is drying her skin out it can be applied before washing to prevent this.

there are no perfumes in it to irritate the skin and is safe enough to use on babies.

cost near to 拢5 for 100g but you can buy 500g in a pump bottle for aproximately 拢10. you can get it on prescription which wil be cheaper if not free.

Neosporin or any good triple antibiotic cream.

What is a good acne cream that is sold over the counter? ?

    none

but the best is probably clearisil's topical cream

it is tinted and really dries out your pimples

    just use for spot treatments

not all over your faceWhat is a good acne cream that is sold over the counter? ?
I recommend and always recommend skin care treatments mostly not advertised on media or tv.

I have been using on called Noxzema and it works fabulous but it is strong so dont get it to close to your eyes or mouth.

If you are wanting something less strong try Clearasil. It works just as good. Just less strong. Actually Noxzema works a little better just because it's strong. So usually things like Neutrogena good smells don't really work well. But there is one and one only other acne cream I recommend would be Clean and Clear. Which is advertised on TV. You can get pads or wipes. Personally I only use cream for picky zits or spots. Other wise for everyday cleaning wipes work great! What is a good acne cream that is sold over the counter? ?
Its not a cream but this is the best thing to do to combat acne. Got to your local pharmacy or drugstore or grocery store. Buy some Bettadine surgical scrub. Its an iodine based soap that is used in sterilizing surgery sites in hospitals. Put a little of that in your standard facial wash. DON'T get it in your eyes. Don't use it everyday. Just every few days. It will kill all the bacteria that causes acne. Also once a week, use it in your hair soap. This is the only thing that worked for me and it was cheap and did not cause skin sun issues.
What kind of Shampoo and conditioner do you use? I found out that most (not all) of my acne was from shampoos and conditioners. I use Naked Natural Citrus Walgreens and Jason biotin Gnc (sold at other places) does not cause me acne. I have found lots of women have the same problem. And I use Joppa Minerals for my facial needs. Not for sure why S%26amp;C caused my acne. But I have tested many hair products.

And No I didn't rub S%26amp;C on my face. And it might be your facial products causing you acne, too. When I started using Joppa, my face cleared up, alot. Then I got good S%26amp;C and Then no acne.
I would say anything that includes a step-by-step treatment such as a face wash (leave it on your face for a few minutes then wash off), the moisturizing cream, and the spot treatment. I like the ones that contain benzoyl peroxide.

Ex: Acne Free.. Clean n Clear

You will see faster results if you get stuff from a dermatologist

if u just want a cream i would say ZapZit (its very strong.. 10% benzoyl), and equate acne cream
It depends. You can't take one persons personal story and make a decision for you because everyone's skin is different.

I find that anything with salicylic acid works best on my skin, I

Clean and Clear Advantage. It has 2% salicylic acid. (The spot treatment is great, works in like 8 hours)

Some people find that benzoyl peroxide works best for their skin. It tends to dry mine out. (This is what Proactive has in it, Proactive is nice and worked, but it dries my skin) (Walmart carries the Acne Free which works just as well, regardless of what others say)

These are the two kinds of active ingredients you want to look for. If you choose salicylic acid, look for 2%, and if you choose benzoyl peroxide, look for 10% in the active ingredients.

Use these two links to help you decide what might be best for your skin. Other than that, its all personal preference. Try buying one of both and seeing how your skin reacts.
Aveeno Clear Complexion lotion. It makes your skin amazingly soft with out making it oily, plus fights off breakouts! Aveeno also has a spot treatment cream for any larger breakouts, that works great too!

Also, I was with plain old Neutrogena oil free facial cleanser. Its gentle on your skin and I found it to work wonders in combination with using that aveeno lotion daily.
Don't use the Clean and Clear Advantage kit.It didn't get rid of one pmple and completely dries out my skin. They used to sell ProActive over the counter.I don't know what happened to that.

I am on prescription gels right now.I am on Differen and Duac.It works best.Ask you doctor.
ZapZyt. Seriously, it works. I had acne for YEARS and the only thing that finally got rid of it completely was Accutane. However, the one product that kept my acne to a minimum was ZapZyt. It worked better for me than most prescriptions I tried!

    http://www.zapzyt.com/

Walgreens, CVS, etc., are good places to find it.
no over the counter acne products work. i went through that period in my life about 5 years ago and i had acne terrible. i tried everything. your best bet is to go to the dermatologist and he can help you.. mine helped me =]
i never had that much acne, but i do get a few zits when am stressed out. i just use a facial scrub and some biore cream when i do get them.
none, go see your doctor and get the heavy duty creams and the oral antibiotics. that was the only thing that got my acne under control.
Clearasil Ultra and Clear %26amp; Clear are 2 very good products that I use and I barely have ANY pimples ever. They have different kinds to suit for you face type (oily, etc.)... good luck! :)
It would depend on your skin. Different skin reacts differently to different medicine.
Clean and Clear Acne Advantage Kit.

As long as you use it daily, it works like a charm.
I guess you could say it's over the counter...I use Clinique's skin care line. A bit expensive but great stuff!
Well rubbing alchol its what me and my sisters use and we have baby faces and its cheap.... =))
    Pro-Active.
    Clearasil Ultra.
I like clean and clear or equate (which is a Generic brand sold at walmart)
    bacon grease
    cottage cheese
none of them work dont waste ur money

  • Is it safe to use Over The Counter yeast infection creams or pills if you have a Mirena IUD?

I had a Mirena IUD inserted 9 days ago and today I feel like I am getting a yeast infection. I was wondering if it is safe for me to use the at home kits or will I move my IUD. I don't want to use the pill if it will hurt me. I am scared to use anything cause so far I am having a good experience with my IUD. Should I talk to the doctor and get some oral meds?Is it safe to use Over The Counter yeast infection creams or pills if you have a Mirena IUD?
yes its perfectly safe to use pessarys to treat yeast infections, also use the cream. Sometimes after having the mirena in during sex ure partner may feel the threads left by the doctor, these can be shortened, but using tampons or meds wont interfere with it. If you r going to get an oral med like diflucan have a chat with ure doc to put ure mind at rest. Oh by the way using slendertone is a big no no with the mirena as the electrical current does affect it. Take Care.

My legs and arms itch. I have tried over-the-counter anti-itch cream but no help I?

Any help would be great. My legs and arms itch. I have tried over-the-counter anti-itch cream but no help I?
Take a scrub bath with antiseptic solution, if it doesnt help take some anti-histaminic like Pseudoehedrine, if still doesnt help consult ur physician for any allergy or disease process. My legs and arms itch. I have tried over-the-counter anti-itch cream but no help I?
Skin mites that burrow into the skin cause tiny points of intense itching. They live on your blood and leave their waste right there to increase the irritation. If you suspect that may be the cause, experiment by saturating a skin area with welts with ACV (apple cider vinegar). Try this for perhaps 30 minutes at a time using a saturated cloth or emersion if possible. Try it for several days and judge the results for yourself. It may take a little time to get all the mites and eggs. At first, experiment with a small area to be sure there is no serious reaction to ACV. Organic ACV is available from health-food stores and may contain less chemicals that could also cause irritation - while you are experimenting. Depending on the severity of your condition, always consider seeking medical advice.
See a skin specialist if oatmeal, moisturizing, or hydrocortisone products don't work. Also, creams containing clotrimazole, such as Lotrimin, found in a drugstore's foot care section, remedies variations of skin fungus found more commonly in areas with older homes. This must be used in the morning and before bed after cleansing the affected area for a solid two weeks in order to ensure elimination of the condition.
Are you stressed out about anything? If so, that could be the cause. Try some relaxation techniques to see if they help. I get itchy when I am stressed and then i have to do that to de-stress and the itching goes away almost instantly. Hope that helps.
you itch more than likely because your skin is dry. Try taking a bath with an oatmeal supplement (Aveeno has some good products), and then lathering on some moisturous lotion. Reapply it at night before you go to bed. Another product I've found that works for me is called ';Hydrocortisone'; cream. It's not greasy like regular cortisone creams, but works to moisturize your skin AND temporarily relieve itching.
Some essential oils may help your itch. Bergamot, Chamomile, Cedarwood, Jasmine, Lemon and Peppermint.

When using essential oils you would want to mix it with a carrier oil. In your case an organic almond oil which is great for all skin types. Or an organic hemp seed oil, which is an anti-inflammatory. If your not sure how to mix oils, there are many helpful aromatherapy web sites that will help.
It could be something you're wearing, like wool
Ask you Dr about eledil. a topical anti itch medicine that gives relief from psoriasis.

Do over the counter skin bleaching creams work?

my doctor prescribed one but I dont have insurance now, so I was wondering if the ones available over the counter work?

Does anyone have a suggestion?Do over the counter skin bleaching creams work?
Obviously they are not going to work any better then a prescription. And from my experience they dont-save your money until you can get your script filledDo over the counter skin bleaching creams work?
    NO THEY KILL SKIN!!!
I don't know but I personally would see a professional at first.

My acne and blackheads have not responded to prescription creams and over the counter products. What do I do?

I have had moderate acne since I was a teen and it has not responded to proactive, acne washes, antibiotics, etc. and It is driving me crazy!!! Can anyone with a similar situation help me?My acne and blackheads have not responded to prescription creams and over the counter products. What do I do?
    How about this: use OIL!!!

I recently found these blogs (listed in sources) that describe how to wash your face with oil. It sounds crazy but it's not. The skin needs oil, not dirt. Soap removes both oil and dirt. Oil removes only dirt (because oil dissolves in oil).

Give it a try! I started doing this a couple days ago %26amp; after struggling with acne for more than a decade (and shelling out lots of $$ on products), it's working for me!

(I just wrote this answer for a different question %26amp; pasted it here. It's too simple, cheap and natural not to spread the word.)

    Good luck! :)

Any over the counter creams good for psoriasis?

I'll give you a few suggestions you can try. Not all are just creams but all are over the counter or easy to get.

I am going to try this one since I just heard about it. Soak your elbows in vinegar or apple cider vinegar for a few minutes and then wrap it with a pad soaked in warmed olive oil. I'd suggest doing this in the evenings before bed so it can really soak in. This would make a great nighttime soak.

Also, you can go for lotions that really create a barrier and keep your skin from being exposed to dry conditions etc like Vaseline Intensive Care lotion twice a day. That one really gave me some relief and helped keep my plaques under control the best.

Sunlight or UV rays is touch and go for people but make sure you use sunscreen on the areas of the body that isn't covered in plaques while in the sun or rays since our skin is different than the average skin types out there. You definitely don't want to cure psoriasis to end up with skin cancer!

I have heard of people having success with rubbing vitamin e oil *just take vitamin e capsules, break them, and rub the oil on the plaques* and then bandaging it.

The main thing is to keep the areas moist or protected from drying out. If you do keep the skin moist just be really careful to watch for infection since we get it easier than other people. Let the skin dry but not dry out between applications of different products! I hope that gives you a few things to try so you don't feel at your wits end with it. The main thing you need to know is not one thing is going to work for everyone so try a few different ideas to find what works for YOU. You're never alone so if you need someone to talk to about this to have a shoulder and listen you're welcome to email me any time. Good luck!Any over the counter creams good for psoriasis?
I've never found an OTC cream that worked. Ever.

    What DOES work?:

    Pine Tar Soap

    Sunlight

Gentle exfoliation (don't scrub the affected area)

And one cream I got from the doc, once, years ago. I can't remember what it was called. But it was the ONLY one (in 25 years of treatments) that made any difference.Any over the counter creams good for psoriasis?
These moisturizers should be applied in the direction of hair growth to prevent pimples.:

    Eucerin

    Vaseline

    Aquaphora

Those are all sold OTC at any drug store. You can always ask the pharmacist what he/she recommends. Good luck! :)

Can someone tell me an example of a cortisteroidal cream? What would the name be over the counter?

any over the counter hydrocortisone. Cort-aid, for example. I am sure that there are generic brands at a cheaper cost. Ointments (vaseline base) work better than creams (in general)

What if you live in an assisted living and you have some over the counter medicines, creams and so on and....?

when you leave for 2 days on christmas and lock your door. The staff goes in and cleans out all your creams and so on. Not telling you anything about it. Is this a legal issue or ethical and what can be done about this? What if you live in an assisted living and you have some over the counter medicines, creams and so on and....?
Technically in an assisted living facility ANY medications, prescription or not, should be kept in the medication cart or cabinet by the staff. Having them in the room is a liability and it's too easy for others to raid. Not to mention all medications need to be monitored and dispensed only by delegated staff. However the staff should have been professional enough to discuss the situation with the resident instead of simply removing them from the room.

and acnefree works great for severe acne

**but unless you have severe acne and/or really oily skin, don't use it because your skin gets really dry

**using proactive makes you dependent on it (ie. like me)

Over the counter eczema cream for face?

Hi, I have eczema and I've pretty much got it taken care of on my body because I lotion daily immediately out of the shower, but my face is another story. It seems like I always get it around my mouth, on the bottom of my chin, and around my eyes. Around my eyes doesnt peel or flake, they are just always dry and red. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any over the counter things that I should try. I've went to the dermatologist a couple times before, but they've never given me anything for my face. I was hoping maybe I'd find something at Meijer, Wal-mart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, or wherever. If anyone knows of anything, please let me know! Even if its remedies that aren't lotions, anything would help!Over the counter eczema cream for face?

  • Is there a cream i can buy over the chemist counter to treat Phimosis?

Betamethasone is only available with a prescription. Is there a cream i can buy over the chemist counter to treat Phimosis?
Surely Phimosis is a tight foreskin and can only be treated by surgery in an adult. I could be wrong, but this is what my son was diagnosed with when he was just three years old and it resolved itself!! Am confused, but good luck!

Is there cream that is over the counter that is the same as hydrocortvalcream.2%?

is there an over the counter cream , with the same power of hydrocort val cream .2%Is there cream that is over the counter that is the same as hydrocortvalcream.2%?
No, the difference is about 20 fold comparing the molecules concentration 1:1. Also the percentages are different as well. OTC hydrocortisone is .5% and your cream is .2%.

Like I said before, there is about a 20 fold difference in the molecules themselves so do use concentration (or %) as a way to assess potency.

That is why you should be consciencious about the cortisone creams that your doctor gives you. The cream you have is already 20 fold but it's the second weakest. The strongest is clobetasol or Halcinonide which is 1800 times more potent then your normal OTC cream.

Which over the counter *** itch cream works the best?

and does anyone want to apply it for me?Which over the counter *** itch cream works the best?
Well based on personal experience, I think anusol. The others dry too fast and leave flaky residue in your underpants. Anusol is kind of greasy though, you may want to wear some sort of diaper to keep from staining your pants. Hope this helps!!Which over the counter *** itch cream works the best?
Try neosporin jock itch cream. Works real well on itches.
Once I was working with my mom in the drug store (she was a sunglass vendor at the time) and I was doing the reading glasses, which are in the pharmacy area, and this um... ';large'; woman was looking through the ointments and she was talking about which cream her doctor recomended. When she left I went over to see what it was she was looking at and the box said ';For ana1 itch'; I was scarred for life.

Can any recommend over-the-counter acne cream.?

preferrably with azelaic acid and not with anti biotics. Can any recommend over-the-counter acne cream.?
You should be careful with acne cream because sometimes it can cause more acne coming out, rashes and allergies, peelings and skin burning. Those were the trying years for me.

Instead why don't you try taking vitamins that contains anti-0xidants like Vitamin E, or Vitamin C and others I don't remember but you can check this article http://www.womans-health.net/wordpress/2006/vitamin-to-treat-acne/

Avoid fatty foods and junk food too and take plenty of water. Do not use any soap based on my experience, just wash your face with water several times a day. Do not rub your face when toweling but gently pat it so the acne will not get irritated.

Take care! Can any recommend over-the-counter acne cream.?
Adjust your diet. Diet is the number one problem in health issues in the United States. If you eat fried foods, candy, fatty meats, chips, alcohol, soda, etc. this could cause your problem. After washing, use Aloe on your face. Twice a day would be good. Get fresh air, plenty of water and exercise. The blood needs to move around to clean the cells. Everything I've recommended will be good for you even if you still have a bad complexion. It takes time for the body to heal itself. If you have had this problem for a year, it will take a year to go away. Chemicals will NOT cure your problem-only mask the symptoms-the real problem will still be there but you will have an additional problem with meds....side effects.

When I itch it it BURNS and tingles and it is so raw!Does anyone know where I can get (permethrin, Elimite) cream ';Over The Counter';?
    hi,

when i worked in a nursing home, we had a outbreak of scabies, so i know what they are. They generally tend to attack your arms and stomach area and up. i have never heard of scabies attacking the feet. From what you described, It sounds more like you may have altheletes foot than scabies. Atheletes foot is a form of fungus that causes the symptoms you described. If you want to, you can try and see if it helps. You can go and get atheletes foot cream at the store, over the counter. Hope your foot quits itching, take care
