Can you use a over the counter numbing cream on your skin before getting a painful tattoo?

No good tattooist will you let you use anything like that, and pain is part of the process, you just have to suck it up as you can see in my pic i have them in a few tender spots myself.. Can you use a over the counter numbing cream on your skin before getting a painful tattoo?
Tattoos aren't as painful as people make them out to be. I have 12, including one leg piece that covers the entire length and half the width of my left calf. Numbing isn't necessary. If tattoos were as painful as people think they are, then no one would have them. It all depends on your tolerance of pain. Trust me, the anticipation of a new tattoo is way worse than the tattoo itself. I still get nervous when I get them! Can you use a over the counter numbing cream on your skin before getting a painful tattoo?
you CAN

you can also rub honey and pretzels all over your skin before a tattoo

that doesn't mean it's going to hurt any less

maybe you're trying to ask one of these questions....

in which case, the search bar works well.

good luck
You can, if you can find some Elma numbing ointment somewhere. You have to use it with gloves and barrier film, and you can't use it on yourself, or you'll butcher yourself. Problem is, they don't sell it in the States... but everybody brings it in. Your tattooist might already have some. Just have to ask him. Ask him in person. Enjoy your ink!
Some places will do it however most artists won't do it because it changes the texture and whatnot of the skin.

Honestly though, if pains that big of a factor then you don't want it enough.
the tattoo artist wont let you. the pain makes it more memorable. you'll get over it as soon as the tattoo is done
