the only accurate answer would be ';whatever works best for you'; - cos everybody is different!
For first aid, I recommend Aloe Vera gel, and/or Vitamin E oil (squeezed from a Vitamin E capsule) - If you still need more, then Evening Primrose oil (also squeezed from a capsule) is VERY good, and as a last resort there is good old Tea Tree Oil (used to treat serious burns) - this last is an aromatic essential oil - if you have sensitive skin, you may like to dilute Tea Tree Oil with Olive oil, or almond oil - likewise keep it away from your eyes.
